Gas: A Blast from the Past
The relentless pursuit of progress – and economic gain – often leaves valuable treasures behind. Biomass gasification technology was used to generate the fuel for gaslights during the 1800s and was a well-known and valuable resource during WWII. As the war effort consumed all of the available fuel in Europe, over a million gasifiers were built to meet civilian needs.
When more oil became available after the war, powerful industries and governments bought up wood gas technology and made it disappear. It did not serve their economic interests to give the public access to a renewable, free, and independent source of fuel.
At 21st Century Motor Works, we are working hard to improve this technology and make it available to you now.
